LAHORE: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has suggested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz to contest elections from Karachi.
It has been revealed from the inside story of the meeting between the delegations of Pakistan Muslim League-N and MQM-Pakistan.
The delegations of both the parties met in a very cordial atmosphere, the party sources said.
During their meeting, the leaders of the two political parties exhibited a friendly and warm demeanor. They reached a consensus to put aside their areas of disagreement and forge a fresh political rapport, according to sources within the parties.
Both parties concurred on the necessity of diffusing the existing political tensions in the country and fostering a spirit of cooperation with other political entities, as stated by the sources.
The sources from the parties emphasized that the creation of a substantial electoral alliance at the provincial level in Sindh is the current imperative.
Nationalist and other political forces of Sindh should be on one platform, the MQM-P suggested.
The MQM-P formally invited Muslim League-N to form an electoral alliance in Sindh, the party sources said.
The MQM-P would make initial contacts with other parties and then inform the PML-N, they said.
Then the leadership of PML-N will take matters forward by contacting the leadership of these parties, the sources said.
Later, Nawaz Sharif will approve all matters of forming electoral alliances with other parties, they said, adding that Nawaz instructed new Sindh president Bashir Memon to stay in full touch with the MQM leadership, the sources said.
The MQM Pakistan has invited Nawaz Sharif to come its headquarters during his visit to Sindh, the party sources said, adding that Nawaz Sharif accepted the invitation to the MQM-P, the sources said.
The MQM Pakistan also suggested an invitation to Maryam Nawaz to contest the election from Karachi, party sources said
