In Dubai, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) is responsible for issuing Emirates ID cards to both UAE citizens and expatriates, including those from Pakistan.
It is mandatory for all UAE citizens and residents to apply for an Emirates ID card and carry it at all times. Possessing an Emirates ID allows individuals to access government and other essential services.
When to Apply for Renewal of an Emirates ID Card
You have a 30-day window to renew an expired ID card from the date of expiration. Beyond this period, late fines will be imposed.
Individuals can request the ID card renewal service through the ICP website, the ICP App available on Google Play, the App Store, and Huawei, or by visiting an accredited typing center.
A visit to one of ICP’s service centers may be required to provide your biometric information.
How early can the Emirates ID be renewed?
UAE citizens can initiate the renewal process for their Emirates ID within a window of one to six months before the card’s expiration date.

For UAE residence visa holders, the renewal of Emirates ID is contingent upon the renewal or reissuance of their residence visa.
