Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif agree to work together to save state

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP) have agreed to work together to save the state.

Former President Asif Zardari telephoned former Prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in both leaders agreed that they will play their role together to save the state.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) sources, Asif Zardari congratulated Nawaz Sharif on his return home after self-imposed exile in London.

Sources said that the two leaders agreed that everyone would play their role together to save the state. The two leaders also agreed to take important decisions to provide relief to the people and the economic difficulties.

PPP sources have said that the two leaders have invited each other for a meeting and there is a possibility of a meeting soon.

The two parties were also coalition partners in the last Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led government, which was formed after the ouster of former prime minister Imran Khan from power.

Earlier, Khawaja Asif responded to questions by confirming that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif will indeed participate in the upcoming election.

Asif, in a discussion with journalists, emphasized that all political parties have been granted an equal opportunity in the electoral field, actually known as the level playing field.
