KARACHI: The US dollar rate in Pakistan rose by Rs2 in the open market, reaching Rs287 from Rs285 on Monday. In contrast, the value of the US dollar in the interbank market increased by Re98 and closed at Rs285.29.
This represents a 2.9 percent increase in the value of the dollar since October 16th.
Throughout the day, currency dealers said that the rupee was exchanged at 286 when selling and 283 when buying for customers. However, by the end of the day, the currency settled at 284 for buying and 287 for selling purposes.
