KARACHI: Local government by-elections are underway in 16 districts of Sindh on Sunday (today).

The polling started at 8 am today and will continue till 5 pm.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established a control room to monitor the election process. The control room which will remain functional till Monday will also address the grievances and complaints.

Meanwhile, a joint meeting of the Chief Minister Inspection Team and Anti-Corruption Department, chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqar was held in Karachi on Saturday.

Chairman CM Inspection Team Rafiq Buriro briefed the Sindh Chief Minister on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the inspection team to establish a complaint portal for the redressal of the grievances of the public.

He directed the Chief Secretary to take strict action against the treasury officers, involved in the pension scam.

Anti-Corruption department has been directed to increase the conviction rate and improve its performance further.
