Punit Balan Group (PBG), a prominent player in the world of sports and entertainment, has just unveiled its grand entrance into the global sports arena with the formation of the “PBG Eagles” team, set to compete in the upcoming second season of the World Tennis League (WTL).

The team’s roster will be led by none other than the World No. 3 ace tennis player, Daniil Medvedev. This exciting sporting event will take place at the iconic Yas Island’s Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi from December 21 to 24, 2023, and it promises a unique fusion of sports and entertainment.

Punit Balan Group, renowned for its investments in nine teams across various sports leagues in India, is now ready to take on the world stage with an exceptional squad. The team will feature the likes of World No. 5 Andrey Rublev and other top tennis talents, making it a formidable force in the WTL.

Daniil Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion and a semi-finalist at this year’s Wimbledon, is geared up for a remarkable conclusion to the year in Abu Dhabi. He expressed his excitement at playing for an Indian team, saying, “After seeing what the players experienced last year, I’m delighted to be joining for this season of the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi. I’ve played several times in the UAE and always enjoy coming back, and I’m aiming to finish this year on a positive note there.”

The World Tennis League will present an enthralling format that divides players into four teams. Over the course of the event’s first three days, two matches are scheduled each day, encompassing men’s and women’s singles and doubles, along with mixed doubles. The top two teams will then compete for the coveted championship title on December 24, offering tennis enthusiasts a thrilling climax to the event.

With the event being dubbed the ‘Greatest Show on Court,’ it will also showcase a star-studded lineup of tennis talents, including women’s World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, Australian Open 2023 finalist Stefano Tsitsipas, and four-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek. The World Tennis League promises to be a tennis extravaganza that fans around the world will eagerly anticipate.
