In the annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), the Asma Jahangir group contested, and Shahzad Shaukat was elected as president and Ali Imran Syed as secretary.
The polling process for the annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association continued from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Out of 1348 registered voters at the Supreme Court Bar Lahore, 1074 lawyers exercised their right to vote.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Shahzad Shaukat said that he will work for the rule of the constitution and that all institutions should work within their constitutional limits.

Earlier, Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) President Maqsood Butter on Thursday expressed serious reservations over the participation of judges of superior courts in the Asma Jahangir Conference, and demanded Judicial Council to initiate reference against them.
Addressing a press conference, Butter called the conference a ‘political show’, adding that: “the judges’ appearance in the conference gives the impression that they are supporting a particular political group of Bar politics.”
