Professor Ishfaq Ahmad unveiled his book “The Perfect Human: Muhammad (PBUH), the Last Prophet and Messenger of God” at the Main Library of the University of Texas Arlington on Sunday.
Dr. Ahmad discussed his personal experiences and the inspiration behind writing the book during the launch event. He also highlighted verses from the Holy Quran that emphasize themes of peace, brotherhood, and human rights equality.
The author mentioned that his book has garnered endorsements from prominent Muslim scholars and is recognized as a valuable addition to the discussion about one of the most influential figures in history.
The book spans approximately 700 pages, with the first part providing a comprehensive historical narrative of the Prophet’s (PBUH) life across 53 chapters.
It incorporates over 500 Quranic verses and 100 verses from other holy scriptures, all placed in their historical context.
The second part of the book consists of 100 short essays, each describing a distinct human attribute of the Prophet (PBUH) with references to the first part.
Dr. Ahmad systematically explains how readers can apply the Prophet’s (PBUH) examples in their daily lives.
Several distinguished university professors who had read the book also shared their thoughts during the event.
Dr. Tamara Brown, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University, who was the chief guest, commended Dr. Ahmad for his remarkable scholarly achievement, noting that it goes beyond his primary field.
Dr. Peter Crouch, the dean of the university’s engineering department, praised the book for its insightful portrayal of the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a profound thinker, humanitarian, and inspirational figure.
Associate Deans Dr. Lynn Patterson and Dr. Carter Tiernan praised the book for promoting interfaith harmony and contributing to the teaching of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Community Leader Elva Roy highlighted her collaboration with Dr. Ahmad on community projects and technology development for disabled individuals, underscoring the book’s positive impact.
Dr. Hong Jiang, who heads the university’s Computer Science Department, expressed his surprise at receiving the book from Dr. Ishfaq, known for his work in computer science. He commended the book for its comprehensive information and well-written content.
Dr. Ahmad shared reference slides and explanations of his fact-checking processes in response to a question about the book’s sources and research methods during a Q&A session.
The book has received praise from local mosques in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and additional lectures and presentations have been scheduled in various cities across the United States, including Texas, Chicago, Seattle, and Houston.
