KARACHI: A woman’s luggage worth Rs 9.6 million has been seized at the Karachi International Airport under the Customs Act.
According to the customs officials, the customs staff at Jinnah International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle electronic goods. The female passenger had reached Karachi from Dubai by a private airline flight.
The Customs Collectorate staff stationed at International Arrivals stopped the female passenger at the Green Channel.
In the presence of the female passenger, her luggage was searched and four valuable iPhones, two MacBook Apples, eight valuable smart watches, 25 valuable handbags, and valuable cosmetics were recovered from it.
The value of the goods is said to be Rs 9.6 million. According to the customs officials, the action is being taken against the female passenger under the Customs Act.

Earlier, The Executive Committee for Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) recommended certain policy measures to further improve the investment ecosystem in various key sectors of the economy.
The two-day 6th meeting of SIFC had begun on October, 23 and was chaired by Caretaker Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Muhammad Sami Saeed.
