  • Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is using AI to track 7,200 vehicles and 14,500 drivers.
  • AI aids DTC in optimizing taxi deployment based on demand and redirecting vehicles to areas with increased demand.
  • The AI also monitors driver conduct and compliance with vehicle monitoring protocols.

Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), under RTA, has begun using artificial intelligence (AI) to oversee and track the performance of drivers and its various vehicles, including taxis, limousines, school buses, commercial buses, and motorcycles.

Demand Hotspots

“Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is keen to showcase the efforts of the Control Center and educate the public and road users about the role of DTC in benefiting from the new technologies and smart systems in monitoring and tracking 7,200 vehicles. The control center monitors and tracks the performance of 14,500 drivers. The center assists senior management in making swift and efficient decisions besides offering a comprehensive calendar of events happening in Dubai, ensuring the taxi fleet is deployed according to demand and the available vehicles are redirected to high-demand areas,” said Ammar Al Braiki, Director of Fleet Operations at the Dubai Taxi Corporation.

The center also observes driver behavior and adherence to vehicle monitoring guidelines, covering 400 limousines, 1,000 commercial buses, and 600 delivery motorbikes. It also tracks vehicle routes to ensure safe transportation operations.

Tracking 1000 school buses

There is a strong focus on overseeing 1,000 school buses, with DTC prioritizing student safety and punctual transportation to and from schools and homes. This entails monitoring trip progress, tracking student information, observing driver conduct, and providing prompt alert services when required.

Taxi Clients

The center also supervises the operation of 5,200 taxis, maintaining uninterrupted 24/7 service availability. It provides support to drivers, addresses their requirements, guides them to areas with high demand, assesses daily vehicle movement efficiency, and analyzes data. These initiatives collectively work towards improving performance to meet customer demands.
