Delhi rain: Iconic Mubarak Begum’s mosque collapsed

One of the iconic vocalists of India, Mubarak Begum, whose mosque is situated at Old Delhi, its central dome collapsed due to heavy rainfall, Indian media reported.

The dome of the Mubarak Begum’s mosque was completely destroyed as shown. The bricks and rubble from the collapsed dome were scattered on the ground while the streets remained inundated.

The mosque was a popular tourist destination due to its unique architecture and rich history. It was built in the Mughal era in 1823.

Mubarak Begum was an Indian vocalist who sang in the Hindi and Urdu languages. She was a playback singer in Bollywood films during the 1950s and 1960s. She had also recorded and given public performances in a number of other genres.

Moreover, Delhi experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday as a part of its monsoon spell. Houses in multiple areas of the city were also damaged.
