Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that monsoon currents originating from the Arabian Sea will likely advance towards the upper and central regions of Pakistan starting from the evening of July 12th. These monsoonal patterns are expected to intensify on July 14th. Additionally, a westerly wave is anticipated to enter the upper parts of the country on the evening/night of July 14th.
As a result of these weather systems, the following areas can expect rainfall, wind, and thunderstorms, including a few instances of heavy precipitation, from the evening/night of July 12th until July 17th with intermittent breaks: Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur), Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, and Okara.
Similarly, from the evening/night of July 13th until July 17th with intermittent gaps, Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Chitral, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, D.I Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Mianwali, Khusab, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh can expect rain, wind, and thunderstorms, including a few instances of heavy precipitation.
