LAHORE: Former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Musrat Cheema has said, “Today, around 60 policemen and people in plain clothes stormed our house.”
Ms. Cheema further said that their guard was arrested and their Vigo and Land Cruiser were also taken away.
Apart from this, the rooms of their house were also searched and the family members were treated very rudely, she blamed.
Ms. Cheema lamented that the land of this country was being squeezed on the patriotic citizens, adding that officials come on a daily basis for psychological torture on children but today the tradition of looting had been repeated.
She said that the government, whose job it is to protect the citizens, has resorted to regular robberies and thefts.
It is pertinent to mention here, Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarrat Cheema left Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and politics after their release.
The husband-wife team were detained for 12 days following the May 9 protests that erupted in response to the arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan in a corruption case involving the Al-Qadir Trust.
Jamshed Iqbal Cheema served in the Imran Khan cabinet as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security from 19 April 2021 till 10 April 2022.
