A tragic explosion took place at a three-story hotel on GT Road in Jhelum, resulting in the loss of at least five lives and numerous injuries on Sunday.

Reports from Rescue 1122 indicate that during the chaotic incident, around 35 people were trapped under the debris caused by the powerful blast.

Rescue teams, consisting of police, civil defense personnel, and courageous civilians, are actively working to clear the wreckage and evacuate the injured individuals.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Police Officer (DPO) have taken charge of the relief operations, ensuring effective coordination among the rescue teams.

In response to the influx of injured victims, an emergency situation has been declared at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital to manage the situation effectively.
