The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to pay offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. $64.1 million over four years. A record-breaking $31 million signing bonus for an offensive lineman is included in the agreement.

Brown was one of the 23 free agents signed by the Kansas City Chiefs during the offseason, contributing to their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. On the franchise tag, he played in the NFL in 2022.

Brown’s Super Bowl parade shirt alone earns him a spot in the top five. In reference to the fact that quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not sacked in Super Bowl LVII against Philadelphia’s league-best defensive line, he and other members of the Chiefs’ offensive line wore straightforward T-shirts with the phrase “0 Sacks.” Add in the fact that Brown, one of the league’s best tackles, does not have a long-term contract. As they try to keep both Brown and RT Andrew Wylie, the Chiefs are likely to franchise tag the 26-year-old, but they will also have to pay Brown or he will be back on this list next year.

Brown was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, making him the ninth offensive tackle selected that year. This selection preceded Brown’s time with the Chiefs. Brown never missed a game during his time with the Ravens (2018-2020), despite starting just 11 games (regular season plus playoffs) in his rookie season.
