Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, answered his detractors by hitting his first century in Pakistan Premier League (PSL) season 8 with a strike rate of 171.66.

Babar and Saim Ayub stole the show in the 25th match of the current PSL 8 as Peshawar defeated Quetta Gladiators by a score of 240-2 because to their outstanding starting partnership. The two bats had the second-highest partnership in tournament history after scoring 162 runs off 81 balls.

Saim kept up his excellent form and hit 74 off just 34 balls, which included all of his incredible strokes. The left-handed batter dazzled the audience by hitting five maximums and six boundaries.

Dwaine Pretorius caught the youthful gun in the 14th over with a slower delivery. Babar persisted nevertheless, scoring his first PSL century. The captain received a lot of flak for his strike rate in the previous game. He did, however, demonstrate his ability to score a century once more, and that too with a higher scoring rate.

After scoring 115 runs, including 15 boundaries and three sixes, he was run out.

Rovman Powell eventually made a rapid 18-ball 35 contribution.

In the first innings, Pretorius was the only player to record a wicket.
