The Gladiators chose to field first in a game they had to win, and Naseem Shah got off to a fantastic start. The right-arm pacer stopped the dangerous Matthew Wade on the first pitch to give Quetta Gladiators a good start. Wade managed to walk off a pitched-up delivery for nothing.
In the fourth over, the newly reinstated young Aimal Khan took out Tayyab Tahir, severely damaging Kings.
Rossington maintained his composure despite his team losing a few wickets in a hurry during the powerplay. He used the power play to score 40 runs.
After the powerplay, Tayyab Tahir, who only managed to score seven points, was the victim of another strike by Aimal.
Rossington continued to score runs in the interim. In the 12th over of the innings, he needed 31 balls to reach his first fifty. Before losing against Naveen-ul-Haq, he added 19 more runs to his fifty. He hit a maximum of 10 home runs in one inning.
Imad Wasim, the team’s captain, maintained his form and scored 30 runs off 20 balls, including three boundaries and a six. Nonetheless, bowling all-arounder Aamer Yamin gave him his entire backing.
Aamer scored a cameo of 23 off 11 after smashing two maximums and a boundary. His brief inning assisted Kings in posting a manageable total.
Naseem and Aimal each grabbed two wickets for the Gladiators, while Mohammad Nawaz and Naveen each shared one wicket.
