The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 is about to end for Quetta Gladiators after their sixth defeat of the year against Islamabad United on Sunday. The door of qualification has not yet totally closed for QG, though.
So the gods of luck will have to significantly favour Quetta if they want to make the playoffs right now.
There are three ways the 2019 PSL champions can advance to the playoffs.
TOP KNOCK, YAAR!
We didn’t even change the match summary photo from last night. This duo worked their magic and turned the tables to @IsbUnited‘s favour. #HBLPSL8 | #SabSitarayHumaray | #IUvQG pic.twitter.com/NWHBUr11Rs

Situation 1
If Sarfaraz Ahmed’s squad wins every game left and Peshawar Zalmi loses every one of their final four league games, that is the first and easiest way for them to reach the playoffs.
In this scenario, Quetta can score 8 points while Peshawar can only muster 6.
Situation 2
If QG wins all of their games and Babar Azam’s Peshawar wins one of their final four games, then is the second and more challenging scenario for QG’s qualification. Quetta and Peshawar will both have eight points in this scenario, and run rate will determine whether team qualifies for the playoffs.
Situation 3
If Multan Sultans lose all three of their remaining games and Quetta wins all three of its games with a strong run rate, Quetta will also be eligible for the playoffs.
At the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Sunday, Islamabad United defeated Quetta by two wickets in game twenty-one of the eighth season of Pakistan Super League.
