ON January 26, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Yasmin Rashid had approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) established by the federal government to probe into the shooting at PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Wazirabad.
The Punjab and the federal governments are listed as respondents in the petition.
She argues that a JIT had already been set up by the Punjab government to investigate the incident and in the presence of first JIT another investigation could not be initiated.
The petitioner had requested the court to prevent the JIT of the federal government from operating until the case was resolved. She further prayed that the notification regarding the new JIT should be declared illegal and unlawful.
Big development in investigation regarding murderous attack on Imran Khan had happened as the preliminary challan of the case was submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala on January 24.
