Four killed, 18 injured in Chilas road mishap

CHILAS: At least four passengers died and 18 others got injured after a passenger coaster met an accident in Chilas, Bol News reported on Sunday morning.

The vehicle bearing number LES-8010 was travelling from Rawalpindi to Skardu. The dead and injured were shifted to Chilas RHQ hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.

Sources said rescue operation by the rescue organisations was underway. On the other hand, an emergency was declared in the Chilas hospital.

On February 26, at least four people had died and several others got injured in a bomb blast on Sunday in Rakhni town of Barkhan district, Bol News reported.

The dead and wounded had been shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively. The local administration had declared emergency in Rakhni hospital. The bomb was planted in a motorcycle, said the sources.

Police had said nature of the blast was still being determined. They said the blast took place in Rakhni bazaar. Police had cordoned off the area and launched hunt for the culprits.

On February 8, a wanted terrorist of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed in a crossfire in Khanewal in a raid conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to sabotage the terrorist network.

The dead terrorist was later identified as Irfan Ullah s/o Kemya Gul resident of Gul Ghara District Kurram and was mastermind of Rawalpindi car bomb blast. The terrorists were members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
