- Babar Awan said assassination plan is being plotted for Imran Khan
- He said that security was removed from the courts during IK’s appearance
- He also requested the courts to proceed hearings via video link
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan said that another assassination attempt is being planned for Imran Khan and requested the Supreme Court to permit Imran Khan to appear in court through video link in further hearings.
He was addressing media when said that an Interior Ministry official has informed PTI that a foreign agency is involved in planning the assassination of Imran Khan and alerted the party that the attack will be carried out during his appearance in court.
Babar Awan said that Imran Khan intimated many times that he would be attacked by a religious extremist and eventually it happened in Wazirabad.
“PTI has information and circumstantial pieces of evidence of the threats to Imran Khan’s life,” he added.
The PTI lawyer said that cases against Imran Khan are being filed in Islamabad to make him appear in district court as it has a history of two assassinations and it would be easy for the assassinator to attack Imran Khan there.
Not only this, he also underscored that the security of the court during Khan’s appearance was taken back and the security cameras were shut in the Judicial Complex, “No security official was present during the appearance of IK in court.”
“Who was behind all this, who ordered the security officials to disappear,” he questioned.
Babar Awan while touching on the murders of Salman Taseer and Benazir Bhutto, said that the assassination plan for Imran Khan has been made in a way similar to these two murders.
“Imran Khan’s personal security staff is being involved in fake cases to isolate the PTI chief in terms of security.”
Babar Awan requested the court to proceed the further hearings of Imran Khan via video link keeping the threats to his life in view.
