LAHORE: Former Prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has announced the election campaign of the PTI from Saturday.
He said this while addressing the nation via video link from Zaman Park residence Lahore on Wednesday.
He advised the workers to get ready and make preparations for the election, adding that the PTI would not let the PMD and its allies run away from the elections. He further said that he would address them on Saturday evening and announce the next plan.
He congratulated the whole nation on the Supreme Court verdict as the apex court has upheld the supremacy of the Constitution and announced the historical judgment.
Imran welcomed the Supreme Court’s 3-2 verdict of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be held within 90 days, saying that the judiciary has fulfilled its responsibility to uphold the Constitution through their judgment today.
He observed that there is still uncertainty regarding the elections whether they would be held or not.
He maintained that the prosperity of a country links with the rule of law and provision of justice.
He recalled that the PML-N had attacked the Supreme Court and divided the judiciary for its vested interests, adding that the PML-N never accepts neutral and honest judges as they want such decisions, which protect their interests. He further said that the PML-N does not want an independent judiciary.
He paid rich tributes to the Supreme Court for its historical verdict and vowed to safeguard the judiciary and protect it.

He said that the mafias in Pakistan have deprived the people of their human rights. He added that they are not afraid of the government and arrests and give it a tough time and would not let it run away from the elections.
He told the nation about the Toshakhana case and explained that before the PTI government, on the payment of 15 per cent the previous rulers used to get all gifts given from foreign countries but the PTI increased the payment to 50 per cent. He added, “I paid 50 per cent amount and bought items and now they are his property and he will do with them whatever I like.”
However, billions of rupees of corruption cases of the Sharifs and Zardaris have been ended and added that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari had bought cars from Toshakhana, which was totally illegal having paid only 15 per cent. But no case was being heard against them and their billions of rupees of corruption cases had been waived off.
He maintained that his life is still under threat, adding that he could be attacked again and might be killed. On the other hand, cases are being registered every day and he is being asked to appear before the court for every fake case despite serious threats.
He said that the PMD government and its allies are afraid of the elections and the people of Pakistan as they have come to know their real faces. These corrupt rulers have come to power through conspiracy and claimed that they would end the inflation but they had got their corruption cases ended.
He once again said to the judiciary that the nation stands by it.
