Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by 66 runs to earn their second victory of the ongoing eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Sunday.
Being given the opportunity to bat first, Karachi set a challenging target of 168 runs before dismissing Multan for 101 runs in 16.3 overs.
Tayyab Tahir scored a half-century, and Tabraiz Shamsi, Shoaib Malik, and Imad Wasim displayed superb spin bowling.
Multan’s hitters struggled to get going in response to the target as Karachi’s spin bowling shone and prevented their opponents from settling.
With the help of four boundaries, Shan Masood scored 25 runs in 16 balls before retiring.
Shoaib Malik, a spinner, cleaned up Rilee Rossouw in the meanwhile with a stunning throw. Only seven runs could be scored by the left-hander in six balls.
