Azam Khan shone as Islamabad United smashed Quetta Gladiators in the 13th game of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi on Friday, setting a lofty aim of 221 runs.
Azam scored 97 runs in 42 balls, including eight maximums and nine boundaries.
Azam Khan and Asif Ali hit boundaries to put Islamabad United back in the game after the Gladiators quickly took a few wickets.
For the fifth wicket, Azam and Asif pulled up an incredible 98-run partnership off just 45 balls to put their team back in the game.
After scoring 38 runs off 22 balls, including a four and four maximums, the dangerous Colin Munro was dismissed by the young bowler Aimal Khan, who is making his Gladiators debut.
Odean Smith dismissed Islamabad’s captain Shadab Khan after Mohammad Hasnain struck twice. The all-rounder attempted to play a big shot but edged and was bowled. In 14 balls, he scored 12 runs.
