Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs on Tuesday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi in the tenth match of the ongoing eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Lahore Qalandars batted first and set a mammoth 199-run target before restricting the Gladiators to 135-8 in 20 overs.

After Jason Roy’s departure, the Gladiators were unable to regain momentum in the run-chase. In quick succession, they lost Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Mohammad Hafeez.

Iftikhar’s mistimed shot was intercepted by Fakhar Zaman. He was only able to score six runs in ten balls. Mohammad Nawaz (2) was bowled out in the next over by Sikandar Raza. The left-handed batter skied his shot, which fell into the hands of Kamran Ghulam.

The next batter to walk off the field was veteran batter Hafeez, who was also unable to cross the fence after his skying shot was caught by skipper Shaheen. In 22 balls, the right-handed batter scored 25 runs.

Shaheen delivered with the ball after taking a blinder, taking the wicket of Odean Smith, who misjudged a slow ball and was caught by Rashid.

The skipper struck again in his final over, dismissing Qais Ahmed for nine runs.
