Iftikhar Ahmed shown his talent once more on Monday in Karachi’s ninth encounter of the eighth season of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL), when he made a valiant fifty against Peshawar Zalmi for Quetta Gladiators.
After being given the opportunity to bat first, the Gladiators lost three wickets for just 37 runs in nine overs. When Zalmi bowlers took control of the game early on, their openers got off to a very sluggish start.

As Gladiators battled the heat earlier, Jason Roy (14), Martin Guptill (12), and Muhammad Nawaz (2) walked off. Yet captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Iftikhar teamed together to make use of their combined experience and perhaps turn the purple team’s performance around.
Together, they scored 74 runs off 50 balls, and in the 17th over, Arshad Iqbal clean bowled Sarfaraz.
In spite of Sarfaraz’s dismissal, Iftikhar continued to contribute runs for his team. In just 34 balls, he completed his fourth PSL fifty.
