KARACHI: Rear Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi on Monday assumed the Command of Pakistan Fleet as COMPAK during the Change of Command ceremony held in Karachi.
Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami handed over the command to the newly appointed Commander Pakistan Fleet.
Rear Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore and National Defence University, Islamabad. The admiral has an illustrious naval career covering vast experience of various Command and Staff appointments.

In recognition of his meritorious services the admiral was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) by the government of Pakistan.
The change of command ceremony was attended by Pakistan Navy officers, CPOs/ Sailors and Navy civilians.
On February 17, two Commodores of Pakistan Navy were promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral with immediate effect. Rear Admiral Khyber Zaman is a graduate of Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, UK and was commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1994.
He is a graduate of PAF Air War College, National Defence University, Islamabad and International College of Defence Studies China. The Flag Officer is a recipient of Sitarai-Imtiaz (Military).
Rear Admiral Shafquat Hussain Akhtar was commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1994. The Flag Officer is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College, Naval War College, Turkiye, National Defence University, Islamabad and International College of Defence Studies China. The Admiral is a recipient of Sitara-i-lmtiaz (Military).
