PSL 8: Mohammad Amir, a pacer for Karachi Kings, is likely to miss the match against Multan Sultans on February 22 as a result of a groined injury.
Amir’s rehabilitation will go on in Karachi while the pacer is out of the game, according to sources.
The Kings are optimistic that Amir will be available for their match on February 26 against the Multan Sultans.
In as many PSL 8 games, Amir has taken four wickets at an economy rate of 7.64.
It should be noted that on Sunday, Karachi defeated Lahore by a score of 67 runs to claim their first PSL 8 victory.
When Kings batted first, they set a competitive 186-run target before bowling out Qalandars for 118 runs in 17.3 overs.
After Akif Javed took two wickets to put Kings in command against Qalandars, skipper Imad Wasim struck in his final over.
Tahir Baig and Kamran Ghulam led the run-chase after Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Amir gave the Kings two early breaks.
However, Akif, who was brought in to replace an injured Mir Hamza, struck twice in his third over to send the two batters back to the pavilion and set his side up for victory.
The PSL 8 final and closing ceremony will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.
Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times.
Eleven games will be played in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.
