PML-N running campaign to impose martial law: Fawad

  • Fawad said PML-N media cell is running a campaign to defame the judiciary
  • He said the PML-N wants to increase pressure on the Supreme Court
  • He said the corruption cases will be restored if court gives judgement

JHELUM: PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said a systematic campaign is being run to pressurize the higher judiciary and impose martial law in the country.

Speaking to reporters, the former minister said the PML-N media cell is running a campaign to defame the judiciary.

“PML-N media cell, particularly Maryam Nawaz, is running a systematic campaign against the superior judiciary,” he said.

He said the campaign has been launched because the Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on the Rs1100 billion NRO given to the government. He was referring to the petition by PTI Chairman Imran Khan challenging the amendments in NAB laws.

Fawad said the purpose of the anti-judiciary campaign is to bring the judiciary in a defensive position as the court’s judgment will revive all corruption cases.

“If the judiciary gives judgment, then the purpose of regime change is lost and all their cases will be restored,” he maintained.

Fawad Chaudhry said it is clearly mentioned in the constitution that elections should be held in 90 days but now less than sixty days are left.

“They want to increase pressure on the Supreme Court to support the PML-N in imposing martial law,” he added.

He said the PDM doesn’t want to hold elections as Imran Khan will return to power. He said that a systematic campaign is being run to impose martial law in the country.

He said the judiciary cannot extend the election date except for the doctrine of necessity. “If the political instability is resolved, then the country’s economy will be fixed,” he said.

Fawad Chaudhry said Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar directly benefit as the value of the dollar increases.
