- Imran says phone tapings violation of law
- He adds video leaks used for political victimization
- Yasmeen says will move court against phone tapping
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has once again appealed the Supreme Court to take immediate notice of video leaks’ issue as it is serious violation of the constitution and human rights.
He along with PTI leader Dr Yasmeen Rashid made this demand while addressing the media and the nation via video link from Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Sunday.
The former premier strongly reacting to leak of Dr Yasmeen’ phone talks with Lahore CCPO Dogar said that only three intelligence agencies of the country have the capability to tap phones, adding that these phone tappings were not used for the betterment of the country but used for blackmailing and political victimization.
He further said that this is serious violation of official secret act and human rights.
Imran recalled he was surprised when his phone call was leaked, adding his phone call was tapped while he was talking with his principal secretary Azam Khan as the prime minister of Pakistan, which was severe violation of the Official Secret Act. And his phone call was manipulated and then released, he added.
He further said that the phone calls of his wife Bushra Bibi and other PTI senior leaders were also tapped and later leaked after having been altered.
He said that even former army chief Gen Bajwa had admitted that he had tapped his (Imran) phone calls and he had all records of them.

This video leak was dangerous trend for the country’s integrity and sovereignty. He demanded the judiciary to take the notice of video leaks’ issue as it is serious violation of the constitution. As per law no phone or talks can be recorder without the permission of the court.
The ex-premier said that there were no neutral governments in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as they and the Election Commission of Pakistan were the parties of the federal government.
He further said that Maryam Nawaz had acknowledged that she had a number of video tapes of judges and she threatened that she would leak them at appropriate time, which means she would use them to blackmail and malign the judiciary and judges.
Dr Yasmeen Rashid on this occasion explained her talk with CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar on phone, which was leaked two days ago, and she said that on the party’s behalf she was overlooking the investigation of the murderous attack on Imran Khan in Wazirabad and in this connection, she talked with CCOP Dogar.
She further told that all evidences and records of the JIT headed by the CCPO Lahore had been missed after the removal of Dogar, which was very shocking and worrisome for us. She further explained why she had talked with Dogar because she wanted to know the real status and situation of the case.
She said this is severe violation of her human rights and the constitution and she announced that she is going to approach the court in this regard on Monday (tomorrow).
She maintained that the imported government had turned Pakistan into a banana republic.
She also appealed the judiciary to take notice of the issue at once and establish the writ of law in the country.
