In a tragic turn of events, a bombing at a mosque in Peshawar’s Police Lines area took at least 32 fatalities and 147 serious injuries. The casualties were confirmed by Riaz Mehsood, commissioner of Peshawar. Although the offenders have not yet been apprehended, the commissioner of Peshawar asserted that a rescue effort is in progress. Mehsood told media outlets that the scent of explosives has been confirmed, but that it is still too early to speculate about the nature of the incident because several individuals are still trapped beneath the rubble.
