LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher said Wednesday that Fawad Chaudhry has been apprehended for speaking ill of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He was addressing media with Attaullah Tarar when said that the performance of PTI was zero and they put dents in the country. “It’s time for them to rot in jails.”
Abid Sher also underscored that the PTI leader was arrested as per law regardless of political and personal grudges.
“If someone challenges the state then it is not accepted now. Fawad will be dealt with as per the law.”
On the other hand, Atta Tarar said Islamabad police received an application from the secretary ECP that Chaudhry threatened and used derogatory wordings against the commission.
He said that Fawad Chaudhry threatened to take revenge on the family members of the ECP officials.
Making it clear that ECP Chief was elected by Imran Khan himself.
Pertinently, Fawad Chaudhry was arrested from his residence in Lahore in the wee hours today and his transitory remand was approved by the court.
PTI leadership has condemned the arrest and warned the government of countrywide protests.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is to address a press conference at 5pm today.
