- LHC ordered to present Fawad Chaudhry
- LHC moved against the arrest of PTI leader
- Fawad’s counsel termed the arrest illegal
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered to present Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry before the court.
A petition was filed against the arrest of Chaudhry that took place in the wee hours on Wednesday. The petition was filed by Barrister Ahmad Pansota.
The petition maintained that the police didn’t provide a copy of FIR at the time of arrest and termed the move ‘illegal’.
On the other hand, a court in Lahore approved the transitory remand of the former minister and PTI leader sought by the Islamabad Police.
Fawad Chaudhry’s counsel submitted that the distance between Islamabad and Lahore was of just four hours and there was no need for the transitory remand.
Meanwhile, Shireen Mazari while questioning the abduction of Fawad Chaudhry, urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of such happenings and urged him to stand against all this.
The PTI leader also urged the president to stand for the country and justice.
