ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Members of National Assembly (MNAs) were on Tuesday not allowed to meet the chief justice of Pakistan, while the Supreme Court registrar also refused to meet them, Bol News reported quoting sources as saying.

Eight PTI MNAs had come to meet the top judge. PTI leader Malik Aamir Dogar said they wanted to call on the CJP regarding resignations from the National Assembly. He said the government accepted their resignations, after the apex court asked them to go back to the assembly.

Earlier, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted the resignations of 43 more members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf National Assembly.

According to the details, the resignations of 43 PTI MNAs have been approved by the speaker National Assembly.

The speaker has accepted the resignations and sent them to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while also issuing instructions to de-notify the PTI MNAs. However, the election commission will decide whether to accept the resignations or not.

It should be noted that the resignations of Riaz Fatyana, Talib Nakai, Yaqoob Sheikh, Sunila Rath, Ghazali Kaifi, Farooq Azam, Nafisa Khattak, Tahir Sadiq, Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan, Haji Imtiaz Chaudhry, Zille Huma, Nausheen Hamid, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana have been accepted.

It should be noted that on January 23, the resignations were withdrawn by the members of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf National Assembly, about which the Speaker of the National Assembly was informed through email and WhatsApp.
PTI also wrote a letter to the election commission on this issue, in which it was informed about the withdrawal of resignations.
