Haroon Rasheed appointed as chief selector

  • Najam Sethi names Haroon Rasheed as Pakistan’s new chief selector.
  • Rasheed was previously in charge during 2016.
  • Mohammad Wasim had earlier been removed from his position as chief selector.

Haroon Rasheed has been chosen as the nation’s chief selector for the men’s cricket squad, according to Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee.

He was previously in charge during 2016 and had selected Pakistan’s squads for the 2016 Asia Cup and World T20.
As earlier reported by Saleem Khaliq on Sunday, Najam Sethi explicitly named Haroon Rasheed as the new chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket team during his press conference.

With immediate effect, Haroon Rasheed, who was a member of the temporary selection committee, resigned from his position to lead the committee.

It should be remembered that Mohammad Wasim had earlier been removed from his position as chief selector by Najam Sethi due to his poor performance. Subsequently, Shahid Afridi, a former Pakistan captain, was elected Interim chief selector till the New Zealand ODI series.
