KARACHI: A person was killed by straight firing near Millennium Mall in Gulistan e Johar of Karachi, according to police sources on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Khalid Hussain. However, the incident is not of a robbery resistance. The person killed in firing near Johar Mor is a government official. He has been targeted over family enmity. The official’s brother was killed a few years ago in interior Sindh.
The martyred officer was posted at the Rangers headquarters. The deceased had gone out on night pass leave when he was targeted. SSP East Abdul Rahim Shirazi is investigating the incident, according to the sources.
Earlier, a student of a law college was killed in a car by alleged robbers in the presence of her father in Korangi area of Karachi.
Sources said the incident took place near Korangi No. 5, where the assailants, riding a motorcycle, attempted to snatch cash and valuables from the youth and his father.
The robber fired at the father-son duo over resistance. As a result of the firing, the law student was killed while his father was critically injured. The deceased law student was identified as Azhar and the injured father was Maqsood Akhtar.
