The Pakistan Super League champions Lahore Qalandars will kick off their campaign for the seventh iteration of the competition on February 4 at their hometown.

The six-day training camp will take place in Lahore’s cutting-edge Qalandars High-Performance Centre facilities.

The camp, which ends on February 9, will feature the whole Qalandars team, including the skipper, Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Aaqib Javed, the Lahore Qalandars’ director of cricket operations, announced that the six-day camp would include a few intra-squad practise games and some demanding net sessions.

“We have planned an extensive PSL campaign to defend the title, as such, all our local players are reporting on February 4 in Lahore,” Javed was quoted as saying in a press release.

“A six-day long training session will facilitate players to get themselves reunited and gelled up again.

“Lahore Qalandars is a family and we are in constant touch with our overseas players to bring them into the camp as soon as possible.”

On February 13 at the Multan Cricket Stadium, the tournament’s opening match will take place between the Lahore Qalandars and the Multan Sultans, the 2021 champions.

On February 19, at the National Bank Cricket Arena, the champions will play their fiercest rivals, the Karachi Kings, in a match that is sure to be a crowd favourite.

The Shaheen Shah Afridi-led team will then play Quetta Gladiators at the same location two days later in their third round-robin match.

In addition, the Qalandars will play five of the ten games on their home field and the other five at three separate locations.
