Father of Somalia-born US Representative Ilhan Omar succumbed to the complications from the novel coronavirus.
The Minnesota congresswoman tweeted:
“It is with tremendous sadness and pain to say goodbye to my father,”
“No words can describe what he meant to me and all who knew and loved him.”
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Surely we belong to God and to him shall we return.

Omar was elected along with Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib in November 2018 making them among the first two Muslim women to serve in the US Congress.
On the other hand, U.S. deaths from the coronavirus have surpassed 116,000 and the most infections at more than 2.1 million.
The country, where many businesses are reopening, continues to register around 20,000 new cases of coronavirus each day and more than a dozen states are recording their highest levels of new cases since the start of the pandemic.
That is the situation in Oklahoma, where President Donald Trump has scheduled a campaign rally on Saturday. He rejected pleas from the city of Tulsa not to risk aggravating coronavirus risks, and said he wants to triple the crowd to 60,000 people.
