KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announces the latest results for Landhi. Jamaat-e-Islami won majority in all five UCs of Landhi.

The ECP also accused Jamaat-e-Islami of trying to create suspicion about delay in announcing some UC results, which happened as the ECP was to compile the results responsibly on various categories. The election body said that the JI is levelling allegations of rigging through the media.

The election commission strongly denies and condemns all the allegations as no complaint has come forward with concrete evidence in this regard.

According to the details, Sirajul Haq had expressed his concern over the delay in the results of the Karachi local bodies elections.

Siraj-ul-Haq said that the JI would not allow anyone to steal the elections like the general elections 2018.

Hafiz Naeem has also said his party had won majority of the seats in Karachi local government elections, however the ECP gave eight of their won seats to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

“We have signed Form 11 of these UC’s results, so our total number of seats won so far is 94, while there are 10 seats for which we have appealed for recounting,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, Jamaat e Islami Amir Siraj ul Haq on Monday announced countrywide protest against alleged altering of local bodies election results in Karachi.
