KARACHI: Police have arrested PTI MPA Rabistan Khan while the son of PPP MNA Shahida Rehmani was injured after the clash in Gulshan-e-Maymar area of Karachi.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) activists outside UC-11 in Block D Gulshan-e-Maymar located on the Super Highway.
The PTI activists allegedly attacked the PPP’s nominated UC Chairman. Hilal Rehman, the son of PPP MNA Shahida Rehmani, was also attacked along with his friends.
Hilal Rehmani said he was visiting the union council along with his friends when he was attacked by PTI activists including Rabistan. He said the PTI activists attacked his friends on their heads while police were unable to stop them.
Eventually, SITE police arrested PTI MPA Rabistan Khan and took him into custody. A case was registered against him for creating chaos and violence at the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station
More than 10 people including MPA Rabistan have been nominated in the case for torturing Shahida Rahmani’s son
The PTI condemned the arrest and the violence at the polling station. PTI leader Imran Ismail strongly condemned the arrest of political party workers. He demanded the police should release Rabistan as soon as possible.
