The controversial YouTuber Adil Raja’s alleged mud-slinging has continued to elicit strong emotions from the entertainment community, and now another actor has filed a lawsuit to stop the smear campaign that followed the former soldier’s accusations.

According to reports in the local media, Mehwish Hayat petitioned the Sindh High Court (SHC) in Kubra Khan’s footsteps to take action against those responsible for the smear campaign.

The Ms. Marvel actress, who is renowned for her outspoken persona, has asserted that false accusations have been made against her on various social media platforms in a plea that was submitted through Khawaja Naveed Ahmed to the Sindh High Court.

A laureate of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award is pursuing strong legal action against “mentally ill persons” who conduct campaigns to damage her reputation.

She requested that the court order the removal of inappropriate content that was posted about her on social media, lamenting the FIA’s Cybercrime Wing’s poor response to her complaint.

Female celebrities Mehwish Hayat, Kubra Khan, and Sajal Aly were charged with being exploited by the establishment to capture politicians.

Adil Raja’s comments were previously addressed by Mehwish, who claimed that “people stoop too low merely for cheap fame.” She went on to say,  “just because I am an actress doesn’t mean my name can be dragged through the mud…Shame on you for spreading false allegations and insinuations about someone you know nothing about and even bigger shame on people who blindly believe in his bullshit.”

The Ms. Marvel actor, who is well-known for her outspoken persona, expresses her “disgust” at the social mindset, noting that “this only illustrates the disease of our culture that swills down this gutter of journalism without any thinking.”
