LG polls Karachi: PTI demands security as all polling stations are ‘sensitive’

  • PTI asked to declare polling stations as sensitive
  • The party fears rigging by PPP during polls
  • Also demands paramilitary force to be deployed

KARACHI: Following the ECP verdict to hold LG polls in Karachi and Hyderabad as per schedule, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded to declare all polling stations as sensitive – fearing influence during the process.

PTI leader Ali Zaidi held a press conference in Karachi when said that the polling stations in Karachi and Hyderabad during LG polls must be declared sensitive as the party has reports of rigging attempts by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

He asserted that PPP knows they won’t be able to pave the way in the elections and will try to rig the process.

Ali Zaidi also said that the sources have informed that the law and order situation will be worsened and riots will take place during the elections and demanded that paramilitary forces should be deployed in both cities.

“We will not let rigging take place in any polling station and want fair elections in both cities.”

Zaidi, while underscoring the law and order situation in the metropolitan city, said that Sindh government is responsible for the situation prevalent in the city right now.
