Farooq says PPP, JI reach secret pact about LG polls

Former MQM leader Farooq Sattar has said that Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have reached a secret pact, adding if Asif Ali Zardari and PPP do not fulfil their commitments, a wrong message will go across the Sindh.

He said this while talking to media after his meeting with MQM Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool and the other party leaders, who visited Sattar’s house in Karachi on Sunday.

The MQM convener on this occasion said that they would fully register their protest in front of Sindh Election Commission office in Karachi against delimitation of constituencies in local government polls.

During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation and expressed their concerns over holding of the LG elections without fixing delimitation of constituencies.

They also feared that the situation would further worsen in future.

Sattar added that Karachi and Hyderabad belong to all and Punjabi, Sindhi and Balochistan living in metropolis should also think over it.

The former MQM leader said that they were products of the same factory, adding that who would be the mayors of Karachi and Hyderabad, it had already been decided.

He feared that the efforts were deliberately being made to put Karachi into fire, adding that they would not tolerate this injustice further.

He said, “Lest they are not able to control their youth against the injustice.
