Why Princess Anne did not invite Princess Diana to her wedding?

  • Princess Anne was married to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992.
  • Only her immediate family members were present at the wedding ceremony.
  • Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, her only brothers, were present for the ceremony.

Princess Diana was not invited to Princess Anne’s small 1992 wedding ceremony.

Only her immediate relatives attended the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II’s only daughter, who fled with her future husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence to Scotland.

This happened after John Major announced in the House of Commons that Princess Diana and King Charles had divorced.

He stated: “This decision has been reached amicably and they will both continue to participate fully in the upbringing of their children.”

Thus, only the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen mother, and her children Zara Tindall and Pete Philips were present at the wedding. Only King Charles and Prince Andrew, her only brothers, were present for the ceremony.
