- Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson celebrated Christmas together for the first time since 1996.
- Speculation that the former couple could reconcile romantically and remarry in 2023.
- Some royal observers recommend that the ex-couple set a significant example for others.
The participation of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson at a major royal function for the first time in thirty years has sparked rumours of a 2023 reunion.
For the first time since their separation, the Duchess of York and her disgraced ex-husband Andrew celebrated Christmas with the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of York’s close friendship and living arrangement have sparked speculation that the former couple, who wed in 1986, separated in 1992, and divorced in 1996, could one day reconcile romantically and remarry.

There are rumours that Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles, could reclaim his “lost dignity” if he remarries his daughters’ mother.
In response to a question regarding her reunion with Prince Andrew, the Duchess stated in an interview with the local UK media: “All I can say is that we’re happy with the way we are right now. We always say we are the most contented divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other .”
However, some royal observers are also recommending that the ex-couple consider setting a significant example for others, as it could help the disgraced royal regain his dignity.
Virginia Giuffre, who accused Andrew of sexual abuse, is apparently planning to break her silence in the coming months, as her gag order expires, as reported by The Telegraph. If she does so, Andrew would likely face a fresh controversy.
After settling his sex abuse case with Ms. Giuffre early last year, the disgraced Duke of York was driven out of public life as a senior royal, and the late Queen stripped him of his military titles and patronages.
