King Charles face criticism for the price of coronation amid crisis

  • Graham Smith said Britain could not afford the £100 million cost of coronation.
  • Working people are struggling to pay rent and mortgages and feed their kids, he said.
  • This is all about promoting the monarchy and satisfying his ego, Smith said.

King Charles‘ coronation plans apparently received the label “crass” as a result of Britain’s current economic crisis.

After discovering the cost of the coronation, anti-monarchist Graham Smith made this accusation.

He cautioned that, given the housing crisis, Britain could not afford the £100 million cost and that “Working people are struggling to pay rent and mortgages and feed their kids.”

Mr. Smith was cited as saying in an Express UK report that , “It is utterly crass for Charles to demand a coronation that will be every bit as extravagant as the last one.”

“The coronation isn’t necessary, he is already King. This is all about promoting the monarchy and satisfying his ego.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had already offered the world the very best of Britain.
