- PPP will hold a rally in Central District ahead of LG polls

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to intensify the campaign for local government elections in Karachi, Bol News reported.
In this regard, PPP senior leader Dr Asim Hussain presided over the meeting attended by the officials of PPP District Central.
It was decided to hold a rally on January 7 in Central District ahead of the polls. Dr Asim Hussain, Saeed Ghani, Murtaza Wahab and other leaders will address the rally.
It must be mentioned that PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari directed to expedite preparations for the local body elections scheduled to be held on January 17.
A day earlier, Bilawal held a meeting of party candidates participating in the local bodies elections in Karachi at the CM Sindh ahead of the polls.
Addressing the gathering, Bilawal expressed hope that the next mayor of Karachi will be from PPP due to the performance of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the hard work of party workers/
The PPP chief said the people of Karachi witnessed how quickly and efficiently development work was carried out in the city under his party’s administrator.
“The doors of the local body representatives were opened for the citizens. A world record has been set for the delay of the local body elections in Karachi,” he added.
Bilawal said the LG polls will be held on their scheduled date as people are fed up with repeated postponements.
“The entire Karachi is waiting for the elections and the candidates are tired of campaigning. The people in Karachi and Hyderabad are in desperate need of local body system.”
Bilawal also administered oath to the candidates. He directed the chief minister to keep the doors of the CM House open for the representatives of the local bodies after the polls as well.
