RAWALPINDI: In exchange of fire, between terrorists and Pakistan Army troops in general area Arawali, Kurram District, two terrorists were killed and three soldiers embraced shahadat (martyrdom) on December 29.

The media wing of military said, “Own troops fought bravely and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.

“During intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.”

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces.

However, during fierce exchange of fire, Subedar Shuja Muhammad (age 43 years, resident of Khairpur), Naik Muhammad Ramzan (age 32 years, resident of Khuzdar) and Sepoy Abdul Rehman (age 30 years, resident of Sukkur) having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat, the ISPR added.

The media wing said sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.

“Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” it said.

On December 25, Captain Fahad and four soldiers of Pakistan Army had martyred during an intelligence based operation in Balochistan, the media wing of military had reported.

“Based on credible intelligence, a clearance operation is underway in Kahan area of Balochistan since 24 Dec 2022. Today, an IED exploded close to the leading party. Resultantly, Captain Fahad along with four other brave sons of soil Lance Naik Imtiaz, Sepoy Asghar, Sepoy Mehran and Sepoy Shamoon have embraced Shahadat, laying their lives in defence of the motherland against an externally perpetrated threat of terrorism,” the ISPR had said.
