Rizwan nominated for T20I cricketer of the year for second consecutive time

After securing his position as the opening batsman for the Pakistan side and compiling an impressive record, Mohammad Rizwan has demonstrated once more why he is a force to be reckoned with in Twenty20 International cricket.

Rizwan was nominated for Twenty20 International Cricketer of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the second year in a row.

This year, Rizwan has played in 25 T20 Internationals and scored 996 runs, earning him the title of T20I Cricketer of the Year 2021.

During the Twenty20 Asia Cup 2022, he played six matches and finished with 281 runs, which was the most runs scored by anyone. He played in seven matches during the Twenty20 World Cup 2022 and scored 157 runs.

In addition to Rizwan, the nominations for T20I cricketer of the year also included players from England’s Sam Curran, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, and India’s Suryakumar Yadav.

Rizwan‘s sparkling performance in the Twenty20 International format earned him the title of Twenty20 International Cricketer of the Year in 2021. He was the first batter in this format to achieve more than 1000 runs, having done so with 1326 runs scored in T20 Internationals.
