QUETTA: A hand grenade attack was reported on a check post of security forces in Noshki area of Balochistan, BOL news reported.
According to reports, unknown armed men riding a motorcycle attacked the check post near Chagai flour mill in Noshki. Security forces resorted to aerial firing against the miscreants.
No loss of life was reported in the city. Police said the office of security and law-enforcement agencies are present near the checkpost.
The incident is the latest after a surge in terrorism incidents in the country. A day ago, at least seven grenade attacks rocked several parts of Balochistan, killing at least 19 people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to hold a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) this week to discuss matters related to national security amid the resurgence of terrorism.
The high-level meeting will be briefed on the recent terror wave in Pakistan and will highlight solutions to face the situation.
At least seven grenade explosions occurred across Balochistan on Sunday amid a new wave of terrorism, injuring around 19 people. There were three explosions in Quetta while one explosion each in Khuzdar, Hub, Turbat, and Kalat.
The first incident occurred on Sabzal Road in Quetta when a grenade exploded near a police station. A woman, two children and a youth were injured in the attack.
Another attack took place near the Frontier Corps check post in the satellite town of Quetta. Police said there was no loss of life while eight others were injured in the incident.
The injured were shifted to the Trauma Centre of Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Frontier Corps, Police and security agencies have launched an investigation in the incident.
In Hub, a grenade explosion in front of Saddar police station injured three people. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Hub while a bomb disposal squad was called and a search operation was initiated in the area.
A police vehicle was also hit with a hand grenade in Khuzdar. No casualties were reported in the attack on Jilani Chowk. Miscreants attacked a truck with a hand grenade in Kalat on the Quetta-Karachi national highway. No casualties were reported in the attack.
Another hand grenade attack in Turbat at a check post of security forces. There was no loss of life. A hand grenade attack was also reported on Sariab Road Quetta.
